After the Uvalde, Texas massacre last month, the NRA and GOP politicians have put forth solutions to school shootings: identify the mentally ill, arm teachers, fortify the schools along with armed police and Shazam! Problem solved. This, while making assault weapons more readily available to “evil-fighting good guys with guns,” sans restrictions nationwide.
The two approaches here seem diametrically opposed to each other, however for extreme conservatives, they make perfect sense. To them, their Second Amendment interpretation trumps all, including the lives of thousands of innocents that have rightly been called: human sacrifices to the almighty gun. And yet, their masked ideology is even more sinister; something few politicians publicly admit; the opposition to gun control is fueled by that same White supremacist “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory. As such, unfettered access to high-powered weaponry is key to that worldview.
Before continuing, first, these “solutions” need to be thoroughly debunked.
Mental illness is not solely a US phenomenon, though mass shootings definitely are. Besides, the mentally ill are not the prototypical mass murderers. One would need to watch the 2002 futuristic “Minority Report,” to realize what would be needed to prevent such killings; identify and neutralize before they kill.
Regarding the arming of teachers, there were 19 armed officers in the hallway at Robb Elementary. That teachers would instead be expected to neutralize shooters is beyond ludicrous.
Heavily fortifying schools is akin to turning schools into super maximum prisons, with watchtowers, electrified fences and armed guards.Yet, that would still leave theaters, hospitals, sports/concert venues, parking lots, shopping malls, grocery/department stores and places of worship, vulnerable to all these same shooters. There have been more than 250 such mass shootings this year.
The NRA and its Congressional representatives actually do push for fortifying the entire nation, i.e, “Fortress America.”
All these “solutions” are but subterfuge for that great replacement. While it has recently gained national currency, it is little different from providence and manifest destiny; the belief that God gave the Americas to Whites and Whites alone, to subjugate and populate, while eliminating, subjugating or assimilating everyone else. Further, it is part of the belief system of creating heaven on earth, which actually means dominating the entire world.
And thus, that replacement rhetoric is with us today because its adherents see the demographic explosion of People of Color, especially via immigration, as a threat to their God-mandated destiny.
While this sounds conspiratorial, it has never actually been a secret. Providence goes back to the colonial days as does manifest destiny, though this latter concept and movement is more associated with the 19th century. Prior to this replacement talk, there was also a prior “modern” iteration of such concepts via Charlie Manson: Helter Skelter. He not only thought that race war was inevitable, but he hoped to instigate it.
Adherents of White supremacy, gun rights extremists, and including the former president’s extremist supporters, seem to all believe in the inevitability of that race war, and their delusional job, as they see it, is to prevent Whites from becoming the minority here. Because they can’t stop the POC demographic explosion, walls and mass deportation schemes are their preferred choice in delaying the inevitable. Another method is the massive expansion of the nation’s prison system, which is heavily composed of POCs, leaving them without rights and freedoms, including the right to vote.
If indeed there were a racial war, all roads would still lead to political and racial apartheid. Why won’t Republicans reign in the NRA, and why does Congress, especially the Senate and the states, not create laws that would make society safer? Because they want to survive that racial war that they’ve imagined, and also want to cling on to power so as to carry out “God’s will.”
All this nonsense is as real to them as the Orangeman’s delusional 2020 claims of electoral fraud.
Mass killings have no effect on their apocalyptic thinking. Yet, not all see guns through a religious prism; those with white supremacist views, including NRA-bought politicians, merge their views with religious fundamentalists, believing that they too will eventually benefit from this ongoing civilizational war, nowadays, coded as part of the “culture wars.”
Are there solutions, beyond bandaids? Plenty; a freeze on the sale of assault weapons, licensing of gun owners and mandatory purchase of insurance would be a start. Yet overcoming the obstructionism by cowardly NRA-bought politicians — with extreme conservative views — is job A-1. The day we as a society acknowledge that “extreme conservative views” are also code for White supremacy, that is when these politicians can be voted out and common sense solutions can actually be implemented.
By the way, per Republicans, the real violence problem plaguing this country is Black racial supremacists and ANTIFA terrorists. Orwell is rolling in his grave.

La NRA y sus representantes en el Congreso y aliados en realidad presionan para fortalecer a toda la nación, es decir, la creación de la “Fortaleza América”.
Todas estas “soluciones” no son más que subterfugios para ese gran reemplazo. Si bien recientemente ganó popularidad en los medios nacionales, es poco diferente de la providencia y el destino manifiesto; la creencia de que Dios entregó las Américas a blancos y blancos solos, para subyugar y poblar, mientras eliminaba o asimilaba a todos los demás. Además, es parte del sistema de creencias de crear el cielo en la tierra, lo que en realidad significa dominar el mundo entero.
Y por lo tanto, esa retórica de reemplazo está con nosotros hoy porque sus adherentes ven la explosión demográfica de la gente de color, especialmente a través de la inmigración, como una amenaza para su destino ordenado por Dios.
Si bien esto suena conspirativo, en realidad nunca ha sido un secreto. La providencia se remonta a la época colonial al igual que el destino manifiesto, aunque este último concepto y movimiento está más asociado con el siglo XIX. Antes de esta plática de reemplazo, también hubo una iteración “moderna” anterior de tales conceptos a través de Charlie Manson: Helter Skelter. No solo pensó que la guerra racial era inevitable, sino que esperaba instigarla.
Los partidarios de la supremacía blanca, los extremistas del derecho a portar armas, incluidos los partidarios extremistas del expresidente, parecen creer en la inevitabilidad de esa guerra racial, y su trabajo ilusorio, tal como lo ven, es evitar que los blancos se conviertan en minoría aquí. Debido a que no pueden detener la explosión demográfica de POC, los muros y los esquemas de deportación masiva son su opción preferida para retrasar lo inevitable. Otro método es la expansión masiva del sistema penitenciario de la nación, que está compuesto en gran medida por POC, dejándolos sin derechos ni libertades, incluido el derecho al voto.
Si efectivamente hubiera una guerra racial, todos los caminos seguirían conduciendo al apartheid político y racial. ¿Por qué los republicanos no reinarán en la NRA y por qué el Congreso, especialmente el Senado y los estados, no crea leyes que hagan que la sociedad sea más segura? Porque quieren sobrevivir a esa guerra racial que han imaginado, y también quieren aferrarse al poder para hacer “la voluntad de Dios”.
Todas estas tonterías son tan reales para ellos como las delirantes afirmaciones de fraude electoral de Orangeman en 2020.
Los asesinatos en masa no tienen efecto en su pensamiento apocalíptico. Sin embargo, no todos ven las armas a través de un prisma religioso; aquellos con puntos de vista supremacistas blancos, incluidos los políticos comprados por la NRA, fusionan sus puntos de vista con los fundamentalistas religiosos, creyendo que ellos también se beneficiarán eventualmente de esta guerra de civilizaciones en curso, hoy en día, codificada como parte de las “guerras culturales”.
¿Hay soluciones, más allá de las tiritas? Mucho; congelar la venta de armas de asalto, la concesión de licencias a los propietarios de armas y la compra obligatoria de seguros sería un comienzo. Sin embargo, superar el obstruccionismo de los cobardes políticos comprados por la NRA, con puntos de vista extremadamente conservadores, es el trabajo prioritario. El día que nosotros, como sociedad, reconozcamos que las “opiniones extremadamente conservadoras” también son un código para la supremacía blanca, será cuando estos políticos puedan ser votados fuera de sus oficinas y las soluciones de sentido común puedan implementarse.
Por cierto, según los republicanos, el verdadero problema de violencia que azota a este país son los supremacistas raciales negros y los terroristas ANTIFA. Orwell se revuelve en su tumba.
